Alluvium Estate Vineyard

Our Vineyard

Coombsville, Napa Valley

The Terroir

Nestled within the Coombsville AVA, Alluvium Estate benefits from one of Napa Valley's most distinctive growing environments. The appellation's cooler climate and longer growing season allow our grapes to develop slowly on the vine, building layers of complexity and nuanced flavor that define our wines.

The name "Alluvium" pays homage to the mineral-laden deposits left by ancient waterways that once carved through this landscape. These alluvial soils, rich with gravel, silt, and clay, provide exceptional drainage and a diverse mineral profile that imparts depth and character to every vintage we produce.

Cool-Climate Viticulture

Cool-Climate Viticulture

The cooler days and extended growing season in Coombsville produce grapes of remarkable complexity, yielding wines with layered flavors and refined structure. Morning fog from the San Pablo Bay tempers the warmth, preserving natural acidity while allowing fruit to reach full phenolic ripeness.

Our vines thrive in the Mount George region, where volcanic soils intermingle with ancient alluvial deposits to create ideal growing conditions. This marriage of fire and water in the earth beneath our feet gives our wines a singular sense of place -- a minerality and depth that speaks to the very geology of this extraordinary landscape.
